Achieving the ‘impossible’ – the revolutionary Canon EOS R5
The new EOS R5, a full frame mirrorless camera built on the ground breaking EOS R System, promises video capabilities that far exceed those of competing cameras on the market. With the ability to internally record 8K, using the full width of the sensor at up to 30p, the EOS R5 is set to redefine mirrorless technology with its market-leading features.
This highly anticipated camera supports advanced animal AF, recognising dogs, cats and birds by relying not only on the eyes of the animal, but also the face and body in situations when the eyes are not visible. In addition, the EOS R5 supports Canon’s renowned Dual Pixel CMOS AF in all 8K models.
“We’ve seen speculation that the EOS R5’s specs are impossible,” said Richard Shepherd, Pro Product Marketing Senior Manager. “Today’s announcement confirms once again that we have achieved the impossible – to support our customers’ need for a camera that delivers exceptional image quality and video capture.”
A performance game changer
An incredible 12fps using the mechanical shutter, with the electronic shutter offering 20fps, the EOSR5 offers a true step change in performance. Canon’s cutting-edge image stabilisation technology is also taken to the next level, with new in-camera image stabilisation working in combination with the lens stabilisation system.
With content delivery just as important as image and video capture, the EOS R5 supports automatic transfer of image files from the device to the image.canon cloud platform and also offers convenient dual card slots.
“As an industry leader, we are challenging the market with this launch and showing what’s possible with Canon technology. The EOS R5 and the RF lens system is proof of our commitment to redefine mirrorless and shows our unparalleled strength in creating products with true purpose.”
